Saurabh Sharma an immigrant himself to USA is charged with the process of creating a database of government officials who are anti-immigrants. These people will create policies to harass Indian immigrants. Note the heritage article justifies why Indian visa applications take years to be processed.
If you are an Indian student in USA you are SCREWED. Not only the visa officers might arbitrarily reject your visa application, you might not be able to adjust to any other visa in USA or get a green card.
US Consulates are running severe backlog of years to process visa for Indians. Right now it takes more than a year to get a simple visa at US embassies in India. There are “agents” who take a hefty money (possibly illegally) to book you visa appointments and without paying this money it is not possible to get appointments in US consulates.

Smarter Indian students are moving to Canada instead of USA for higher education. Not only their visa process is simple and predictable it is extremely fair and lacks the racism that you will experience with US system.
